Garden Village of the North!

The Paulshof Residents and Ratepayers Association (PRRA) is a non-political voluntary body of residents. Its objectives are :

  • To promote and safeguard the interests of all householders and residents in the area.
  • To co-operate with similar non-political associations of residents in other suburbs and cities in Gauteng.
  • To determine, by free discussion and deliberation, the views of the majority of the residents of the area.
  • To co-operate, consult and collaborate with the area’s Representative on the Johannesburg Metro (or any other body which may in future be substituted for the Metro) and to ensure that the voice of public opinion is heard and given due consideration in the management of the town (or any other area combined with the town).
  • To promote and safeguard the integrity of the environment in the area.

THE CONSTITUTION

The Association is properly constituted and the constitution is available for public scrutiny on our website.

PRRA COMMITTEE

A volunteer committee runs the association. The association comprises two representatives from each of four sub-committees in each geographical sector of Paulshof. These are Paulshof Central (below Umhlanga Road down to Braamfontein Spruit), Paulshof Ext 10 (at the end of Umhlanga Road separated by K60 road reserve), Paulshof West (area above Umhlanga Rd to the Rietfonetin Nature Reserve) and Paulshof Achter Road (comprising Achter Rd and Milcliff Rd between Braamfontein and Sandspruits). The PRRA chairmanship rotates between these four sectors each year.  The Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer are elected each year at an Annual General Meeting, which is open to the public and usually held at the Rivonia Recreation Club on Achter Road in February.

SECURITY : The Paulshof “PSP” – Paulshof Security Project

The PRRA has partnered with iMvula Quality Protection to provide a superior armed reaction service complimented by a comprehensive CCTV camera monitoring system. To date, more than 330 subscribers have supported the move and our first 14 cameras have been purchased and are now functioning. The PRRA has set its target at 50 cameras to cover all the main intersections and river and greenbelt areas within the suburb. The plan allows for the PRRA and the community to hold the security service provider accountable for their performance. The ownership of the project and all cameras will be that of the Paulshof community, empowering us with the control of our own destiny in terms of security.
We appeal to all residents to consider supporting the PSP CCTV Camera surveillance project by appointing iMvula as their security service provider. PRRA GREENBELT PROJECT

Johannesburg City Parks awarded Paulshof's "Green Team" with the 2008 Chairperson's Recognition Award for Community Based Greening in Johannesburg.

Paulshof was also once voted the best place in Johannesburg to walk your dog!

Undoubtedly Paulshof’s greatest pride is its beautiful parks and river areas. The PRRA Parks sub-committee raises funds and goes to considerable lengths to supplement the Johannesburg City Parks’ efforts to maintain these areas. We cut grass and plant indigenous trees. We maintain the children’s play park on Brackenhill Rd and have built and maintain the four wooden pedestrian bridges spanning the Paulshof spruit that flows into the Braamfonteinspruit. Please support the greenbelt fundraising project which aims to keep out parks beautiful, user friendly and above all, safe.
